Fiction Fauna – Meet your exciting, new & wildly popular biological pets

Thursday 14 April, 2022

Imagine a not too distant future, a world where the majority of humanity’s difficult challenges have been resolved. There is no violence, scarcity of food, shelter and social welfare is sufficient.

These are the concept basis for the creation of Fiction Fauna™, whereby the essential responsibility for most of us in this world is to create and care for these artificial pets. They are made up creatures designed to be attractive, intelligent and friendly. These biological pets; animal-like artificial creatures with AI-based intelligence and emotions. The introduction for the first four creatures are now met.

The collectables

There are four collectable creatures and each of these were created in response to our ever evolving and improving society and how we go about our daily lives with our pets now and in the future. Each of the creatures has its own unique characteristics and backstory. The creatures’ stories are diverse yet easily relatable, accessible and share a common theme; they are all biological and mystical in some aspect of their features or their backgrounds. The simplicity of their aesthetics resonates strongly with their stories and is one of the main reasons why they are engaging to prospective owners.

The characters

Each of the Fiction Fauna™ creatures have their own unique characteristics and backstory. The creatures’ stories are diverse yet easily relatable, accessible and share a common theme; they are all biological and mystical in some aspect of their features  or their backgrounds. The simplicity of their aesthetics resonate strongly with their stories and is one the main reasons why they are engaging to prospective owners. Here are some of the creatures’ backstory.

Loto

Loto might look like a four-legged morphosis, but in fact he’s actually a toad with a tail. He loves playing in the water and catching domestic bugs and flies. He is incredibly affectionate in nature and will understand your emotions through his genetic telepathy. His nose turns red as he senses sad emotions. He is an ideal consul and will make you feel better whenever you are down. Ironically, Loto’s best buddy is actually a fly called Flimo from Cherry Tree Wood.

Cado

Cado is a loveable creature and he has quite a passionate personality. He gets angry easily, but also can be caring at the same time. Between all Fiction Fauna creatures, he is the most straightforward character. Apart from his  temper, he is fiercely loyal to his owner.

Lono

Lono is a mystic biological elephant-like creature with an unselfishness and prevail characteristic. She loves to be pampered but her less-than-glitzy roots keep her from being too spoiled. As a domesticated biological pet her mannerisms is very similar to an elephant. Also she surprises many with her trunk which can carry heavy loads. She loves strawberry milkshake and she slurps when she drinks. Like Loto she is incredibly affectionate in nature and fun to be around with.

Cactu

Cactu was created to be the Fiction Fauna™. Seemingly a part of an ancient tree form, he is in fact a cactus, brought to life by the mysterious Cosmo. He grows like a normal cactus and can purify air. He has a meek and friendly nature; who doesn’t like standing up to others to get his point across.

The collaborations

We love producing collectable products. We love working with illustrators and routinely seek partnerships with inspirational, creative people and companies that share the same passion as us. We love  the smell of toys, texture of materials, and seeing it all come together as a finished product and the emotions it evokes in customers. We love the journey of collaboration, the sense of the new and the undiscovered; unseen and unpublished. We met Jun Seo Hahm, an award winning filmmaker / digital artist based in Korea during one of his seminal lecture series; and on conversing, we quickly found that we shared many of the same ideas and passions. We started collaborating through many ideation and design workshops; and this is how the idea for  Fiction Fauna™ was created.

What’s next

Fiction Fauna is building awareness around the art of biological living. Using art and technology to build interactive digital journeys and products to allow our followers and collectors to obtain and experience such knowledge through interacting with the NFTs. By establishing core biological story elements, with the guidance from our Fiction Fauna community, we plan to open paths in film, games, Metaverse and as well as our physical collectables. Our mission is to create an entire interactive biological creatures in the Metaverse and explore collaborative and community storytelling through different outlets, pushing the boundaries of what an NFT is, what it can physically do, and the forms it can take. More information to follow in our forthcoming posts.
